The following history of Convair and aviation in North Texas is provided by Mr. Don Pyeatt.  Mr. Pyeatt wrote this article as a chapter for a book he co-authored with Richard Marmo and Ed Calvert, B-36: Saving the Last Peacemaker, a history of the last B-36 produced by Convair in Fort Worth.
